Studio 360 is looking for sharp, enthusiastic self-starters, with or without radio skills, for internships. Internships generally follow the academic calendar, roughly Sept.-Dec., Jan.-April, and May-Aug. Exact duration and start dates are flexible. Internships generally require at least a 20-hour/week commitment. (Full-time interns are preferred). $10 stipend/day.
Responsibilities:
Interns assist in all aspects of producing Studio 360. They sit in on editorial meetings, provide research assistance, pitch ideas, transcribe tape, gather materials for the website, and perform various tasks involved in running the office. Interns learn fundamental radio skills (including field recording and audio editing) and are encouraged to produce at least one segment for the show. Interns with audio production skills will receive more advanced training, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Past interns have come from a wide variety of backgrounds. There are no specific criteria except a passion for the arts and popular culture, and a fascination with creative radio. While we do not expect new interns to have experience with radio production, some journalism experience is preferred. We have also had successful internships with professionals from other fields making career changes. In short, we are looking for applicants who are motivated, avid cultural consumers, and who are excited to learn.
