We’re looking for a three- to five-day a week intern to help us out in the Double X office for the summer. Double X is a new online magazine “founded by women but not just for women” which grew out of The XX Factor, a blog written by Slate’s female contributors. Read the full internship listing here.
This is, alas, an unpaid internship, but there are a lot of opportunities to contribute. We’d like to find someone with a broad range of interests, from politics to culture. The job will entail helping us proofread and factcheck the site; research for various calendars and schedules; general administrative assistance; and possibly some blogging and writing. It requires someone who can write well and has a good sense of self-direction, and who can handle a daily pace. Ideally, this person would have some webby skills, too.
We’d like them to start soon and work through the end of August, ideally. If they’d like to work 1-2 days a week in the fall or spring, we’d love that, too.
