Pregnancy & Parenting Intern Responsibilities:
In search of a motivated, responsible, web-savvy who is either in sophomore, junior, or senior standing or in a graduate program for an internship at iVillage.com (an NBC/Universal company) in the pregnancy and parenting channel. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and should have an interest in women’s lifestyle issues and online media. Writing and editing skills are a must. Web design and photo research skills are a plus. Intern will assist as needed in all aspects of writing, editing and producing content for iVillage pregnancy and parenting , and for Momtourage.com.
Duties include:
- Writing assignments based on need and intern’s interest
- Attending editorial team meetings
- Producing articles and slideshows
- Writing and producing promotional language for new content
- Photo research for slideshows
- Daily news research
- Opening and sorting mail
- Obtaining photos from PR contacts
- Printing, faxing and photocopying
- Metrics research
- Minor bug fixing
- Vetting and selecting expert Q & As
- Maintaining subscriptions and catalogs
- Organizational tasks (making lists and spreadsheets, searching the iVillage archive, etc.)
This internship is unpaid; a small travel stipend is provided.
